10918 Frankstown Rd – Apartment Fire

Shortly after 9pm on Friday evening, Stations 225, 227, 222, 285 were alerted for an apartment on fire at Penn Arbors Apartments. PHPD arrived on scene and reported smoke in the 2nd floor hallway. 227TK arrived on scene and took a position at the front of the building. 227TK crew proceeded to the 2nd floor. Crews found an apartment that was on fire, but was quickly extinguished by the building fire suppression system. Crews from 222 and 227 were assigned to secure the water supply to the fire suppression system. 227TK crew was then assigned to secure the power to the building. 285EN crew was assigned to salvage and overhaul. Tenants from floors 3 to 11 were allowed back in their apartments. All tenants on the 2nd floor were unable to inhabit the apartments. The are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
