On Saturday afternoon shortly after 3pm, stations 227, 223, 222 were alerted for a four (4) vehicle accident with injuries in the 200-blk of Rodi Rd. 227CHF arrived on scene with 4 cars blocking all of Rodi Rd. 227RQ arrived shortly after and crews provided first-aid till the arrival of WHEMS. 223EN1 arrived on scene and crews assisted with debris clean up and traffic control. Rodi Rd was closed for about 45mins. Injured patients were transported to a local trauma with non life threatening injuries.

At 6:18pm on Thursday evening, Stations 225, 221, 227, 222, 285 were alerted for smoke coming from 2698 Robinson Blvd – Valmar Garden Apartments. 225CHF arrived on scene with smoke showing. 225TK arrived and crews deployed attack lines. 227EN secured a water supply to 225TK. Crews reported a basement apartment on fire. Crews from 225, 227, 221, 222 worked hard to contain the fire. 285EN arrived on scene and staged for RIT. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire.

On Monday afternoon, shortly after 3pm Stations 227, 223, 222, 225, 196 were alerted for a deck on fire on the side of a commercial building in the 400-blk of Rodi Rd. 516FM arrived on scene with deck on fire and evacuated the building. 227TK arrived on scene and crews deployed an attack line to contain the fire. 227EN arrived on scene and secured a water supply to 227TK. 196RQ, 223EN, 222EN arrived on scene and crews checked interior and exterior for signs of extension. None was found.

On Sunday Morning, shortly after 12:18am Stations 221, 225, 227, 137, 196 were alerted for a house on fire in the 500-blk of Grove Rd. 221EN arrived on scene with a well involved vacant house on fire. 221EN secured a water supply. The entire front of the building collapsed into the street. Due to crews taking a defensive fire attack position, all members were far enough out of the way and no one was injured. Crews checked neighboring structures, all occupants were safely out of their homes. There was minor cosmetic damage to one hour. Crews operated on scene for about 3 hours. No injuries were reported. The Penn Hills Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.

On Thursday morning, shortly after 1:30 AM Stations 223, 227, 222, 225 Were alerted for an apartment on fire in the 100-blk of Penn Pleasant Drive. PHPD arrived on scene and reported fire from a basement apartment. 227EN & 227TK arrived on scene, 223EN secured a water supply to 227TK. Crews from 223, 227, 222 deployed two (2) attack lines and quickly started to contain the fire. 225TK and 233RQ were tasked with primary and secondary searches. No victims were found, crew were able to locate all of the residents pets. All companies assisted with ventilation. PHEMS evaluated one (1) patient on scene. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is assisting all of the tenants that were displaced.

On Monday morning, shortly after 2:15am Stations 227 & 223 were alerted for a vehicle on fire 13000-blk of Frankstown Rd. 227EN arrived on scene with an engine and passenger compartment on fire. Engine crew advanced an attack line and started extinguishing the fire. 223EN & 223MP arrived on scene and assisted with extinguishing the rest of the fire. The fire was extinguished in about 5mins. No injuries were reported.

On Tuesday morning, Stations 225, 227, 222 were alerted for a vehicle vs a garbage truck at the intersection of Laketon Rd & Nelbon Ave. PHPD arrived on scene and reported one (1) vehicle on its roof with the driver still in the vehicle. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle and later transported by PHEMS with non-life threatening injuries. 225EN & 227RQ assisted with debris clean up. The roadway was closed for about 45mins.

On Monday afternoon Stations 225, 227, 222 were alerted for a vehicle into a structure at the intersection of Nelbon Ave & Lindberg Ave. 227CHF arrived on scene to find a sedan into a apartment building. The driver was already out of the vehicle and refused medical treatment. 225EN, 227RQ, 222RQ assisted with evacuating the remaining tenants and checking the building for structural damage. PHFM & PHCODE we’re notified. Only two (2) occupants of the building were affected, they are currently being assisted by the RedCross. The operator of the vehicle was detained by PHPD and they are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.

On Wednesday evening, Stations 224, 223, 222, 225, 227 were alerted for a house filling with smoke in the 600-blk of Sara Ln. 227TK arrived on scene with smoke showing, crews found a fire in the walls of the kitchen that had extended to the second floor. Crews confirmed that all occupants were out of the house. 222EN secured a water supply to 227TK. Crews from 222EN and 223EN proceeded to the second floor to contain and extinguish the fire. 225TK crew arrived and was assigned to ladder the building then stage for RIT. 224EN crew assisted with exterior operations. After about 30mins the fire was placed under control. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.

About 7:30pm on Sunday evening, Stations 227, 223, 222, 225, 196 were alerted for a house on fire in the 400-blk of Guylyn Dr. 227TK arrived on scene with smoke and fire showing from the second floor. 227TK crew deployed an attack line and advanced it into the building. 227TK secured its own water supply. The homeowner confirmed all occupants were out and accounted for. 196RQ arrived on scene and assisted with laddering the building, then stood by for RIT. 222EN & 223EN arrived on scene and assisted interior crews checking for extension. 225TK crew stood by for roof operations. The fire was quickly brought under control. The PHFM is investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
